Carlos Vilhena

Carlos Vilhena has a diverse work experience spanning over 12 years. Carlos is currently working as the Head of Engineering at Fidel API since October 2021. Prior to that, Carlos served as the Senior Director of Engineering at Talkdesk from May 2020 to September 2021, where they led a team of 75 people and focused on building and operating core voice products. Carlos also worked as the CTO at YLD from August 2017 to September 2019, where they helped double the engineering team to 80 engineers and streamlined the recruitment process. Carlos has also held positions such as Tech Lead at Government Digital Service, Co-Founder & CTO at ParcelBright, Senior Software Engineer at Forward Partners UK, Senior Software Engineer at Listora, and Senior Software Engineer at Digital Science. Carlos started their career as a Software Developer at Danske Bank, where they worked on critical and transactional systems. Carlos has experience in various technologies and has worked on both backend and frontend development, infrastructure automation, and user management systems.

Carlos Vilhena completed their BSc in Computing Science from Universidade do Minho, starting in 2001 and finishing in 2006. After that, they pursued an MSc in Computing Science, completing the first year at Universidade do Minho in 2006-2007 and the second year at the Engineering College of Aarhus from 2007 to 2008, specializing in Formal Methods. In addition to their formal education, Carlos Vilhena obtained certifications in "How to Manage a Remote Team" from Coursera in April 2023, "Product-led Certification" from Pendo.io in February 2023, and "Machine Learning" from Coursera Course Certificates in April 2016.
