Elizabeth Paton

Elizabeth Paton is an accomplished fashion editor with extensive experience in the fashion and luxury industry. Currently serving as the Fashion Editor at Financial Times since August 2025, Elizabeth previously held the position of International Styles Correspondent at The New York Times from August 2015 to July 2025, focusing on in-depth reporting and interviews with key figures in European fashion. Elizabeth’s prior roles at Financial Times included responsibilities as a Breaking News Desk reporter, a Fashion and Luxury Correspondent, and the Luxury 360 Assistant Editor, where significant contributions to digital coverage of the luxury sector were made. Earlier experience at The Sunday Times encompassed roles as Assistant Online Editor for Style magazine and as an online news reporter. Elizabeth holds a BA Hons in English Literature from the University of Oxford and was actively involved in various university initiatives, including serving as the Director of the Oxford University Fashion Show.
