Kate Weidmann

Kate Weidmann is an experienced engineer currently serving as an Assembly, Integration, and Test Engineer at Firefly Aerospace since July 2021, where responsibilities include writing work instructions for harnessing integration and organizing manufacturing orders for lunar lander components. Prior to this role, Kate worked as a Design Engineer, designing secondary structures for the Blue Ghost lunar lander and performing reliability analyses. Experience also includes a Teaching Assistant position at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where Kate graded quizzes and assisted students, as well as a co-op at Southco, Inc., focusing on designing assembly adapters and managing 3D printers. Additional roles in tutoring mechanical engineering students, redesigning a spigot at Thermo Fisher Scientific, leading new student orientations at RIT, and serving as a summer camp counselor further highlight a diverse skill set in engineering and education. Kate holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
