Director, Marketing at Flexiti

Kathryn Barban is the current Director of Marketing at Flexiti. Kathryn has held this position for 4 years and 9 months. Prior to this, they were the Associate Vice President Marketing at Flexiti, and before that, they were the Marketing Director. Kathryn was also responsible for managing social accounts for the performance company (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). Additionally, they acted as primary Media Contact for the 2014 Toronto Fringe Festival, completing promotional radio and podcast interviews to promote performances.

Prior to their work at Momentum Dance Toronto, Kathryn was employed at LoyaltyOne for 4 years and 1 month. At LoyaltyOne, they were the Marketing Manager. In this role, they managed the annual marketing budget of $35M by evaluating requests from marketing teams based on expected financial impact and ROI. Kathryn also led a cross functional team to improve organizational efficiency by identifying process gaps, developing recommendations which led to 10%+ reductions in process time. Furthermore, they established the process for which annual planning across the AIR MILES Reward Program was developed, ensuring all department plans worked cohesively towards achieving overall organizational objectives. Additionally, Kathryn worked on the social venture AIR MILES for Social Change, which sought to move consumers to more healthy and environmentally conscious behaviours leveraging the AIR MILES currency as an incentive. Kathryn also managed relationships with cross functional teams (IT, Operations, Analytics, Finance, Legal, and Agency) to implement new partner launches and campaigns. Lastly, they executed a multi-year campaign in conjunction with the federal government to incent Canadians to be more physically active which led to a 63% increase in gym visits among program participants.

Kathryn Barban has a Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies from Western University, specializing in Finance and Administration. Kathryn also has a post-graduate certification in International Marketing from Humber College, specializing in European markets. In addition, they have an Education from Proctor Academy. Kathryn is also a candidate for the University of Toronto's Management of Enterprise Data Analytics. Finally, they have a Digital Marketing Online Certificate Course from the Canadian Marketing Association.
