Jim Durwin

Aviation Operations Administrator

Jim Durwin, C.M. currently serves as the Aviation Operations Administrator and Airspace Protection and Security Manager for the Florida Department of Transportation since January 2024. Prior to this role, Jim held positions at the City of Tallahassee as Deputy Director of Aviation and in Airport Operations from July 2000 to January 2024. Jim's military career includes serving as a Master Sergeant in the US Air Force Reserve from 2005 to 2013, and in the Air National Guard from 2000 to 2005, as well as in the United States Air Force from 1992 to 2000, where duties included POL and Command & Control Craftsman. Jim holds a Master's Degree in Aeronautical Science and a Bachelor's Degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, along with two Associate's Degrees from the Community College of the Air Force in Information Systems Technology and Logistics Management.
