Benjamin MacKie

Benjamin Mackie currently holds the position of Vice President and Co-Director of the Heart and Vascular Institute at Tampa General Hospital, as well as Medical Director of the HVI Heart Failure Center of Excellence, having assumed these roles in May 2023. Additionally, Benjamin serves as the Medical Director for the Cardiac Transplantation program at the Tampa General Hospital Transplant Institute since October 2019. Benjamin’s prior experience includes working as an Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist at Tampa General Medical Group from July 2013 to October 2019. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of South Florida (2001-2005), a Bachelor of Arts in the History of Science, Technology, and Medicine from the University of Florida (1996-2000), and extensive medical training at Emory University (2005-2013) through an internship, residency, and fellowship.
