Sam Ashoo

Sam Ashoo, MD, currently serves as the Medical Director for the Central Medicare Unit at Centene Corporation, a position held since February 2023. Dr. Ashoo has extensive experience in medical education and emergency medicine, holding the role of Clinical Associate Professor at Florida State University since August 2005 and previously working as an Emergency Physician and Medical Director of Emergency Services at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare until November 2023. As Editor-In-Chief of Clinical Pathways at EB Medicine since January 2020, Dr. Ashoo also contributes to the medical field through various educational platforms, including hosting the EMplify Podcast and designing the FOAMed website. Notable past roles include founding Learn EM, serving as Chief Medical Officer at Aristo E|R, and contributing to educational podcasts with Hippo Education, LLC, and EM:RAP, Inc. Dr. Ashoo earned a Bachelor's degree from Florida State University and an MD from the University of Florida.
