Matty Cusden-Ross

Matty Cusden-Ross is the founder and president of Flux. Matty previously worked as the CMO at Revolut from February 2015 to September 2015. At Revolut, Matty led all activities that reached Revolut’s users. Matty was deeply ingrained with customer needs and joined the Revolut team because of a personal desire to use technology to make foreign exchange permanently free.

Some of their key areas of involvement included building a customer base of 80k users within 7 months of official launch with 10%-15% WoW user growth resulting in $200mn in transactions with 10%-15% WoW growth, keeping CPA 40% lower than targeted and 70%-80% lower than competitors, and within 3 months of launch exceeding competitors app installs despite the competitor's app being launched for 24 months and the competitor having a far larger marketing budget.

Matty also hired, built and managed a customer support team from scratch to deal with large influx of users and ensure customer satisfaction. Matty was responsible for the PR activity (brand positioning, strategic vision) around official launch resulting with features in TechCrunch, ITV Good Morning Britain, Mail Online amongst others. Additionally, they built from scratch strong business relationships with large corporates and generated video content for published media.

Other areas of responsibility included website development (HTML and CSS), data analysis (PostgreSQL, Excel) to understand user behaviour and determine effective changes, social media marketing (Facebook and Twitter), and creating distribution channels through affiliate programmes with bloggers and other media channels.

Matty is also a well-known speaker, frequently speaking at events resulting in user acquisition and hiring.

Matty Cusden-Ross did their A-Levels at Strode College, taking mathematics, further mathematics, and physics. They then went on to study for a Bachelor of Science in Physics at King's College London.

They are on a team with Robert Collings - Head of Finance & Ops, Tom Reay - CTO, and Samantha Lind - Head of Customer. Matty Cusden-Ross reports to Veronique Merriam Barbosa, Co-Founder & CEO.
