Carl-Johan Collet is the Chief Investment Officer at Fokus Asset Management. Prior to their current position, they were the Managing Partner at Urban Africa Real Estate Group Ltd from January 2016 to April 2020. There, they focused on creating, transacting, and managing investment grade commercial property in Zambia. Carl-Johan's company had a $70m mandated property sales pipeline, a $40m development pipeline, and managed $18m of assets.

Collet is also responsible for creating and distributing market-leading research on Zambian commercial property market that has been picked up media in the UK, Germany, UAE, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia. Carl-Johan and their team are also advisors to local institutional investors, as well as institutions and funds from UK, South Africa, Botswana, Mauritius and Kenya.

In Urban Africa Real Estate Group Ltd's first deal, they conceived of and raised all funding from Zambian pension funds for The Urban, a 60-room hotel in Ndola and managed the development process through opening. They negotiated the land deal with golf club and The Urban opened in October 2016. It is currently rated as the best hotel in Ndola (TripAdvisor) and runs at an industry-leading 70% occupancy. The deal is generating excellent returns for investors.

They then developed and raised all funding for the 3,300m2 Ndola Square shopping centre which opened September 1, 2017 with Choppies

Collet has an MBA from INSEAD and a B. Sc. in Commerce with a concentration in Finance from the University of Virginia. Carl-Johan also has a degree in Economics from Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen and attended Herlufsholm.
