Chief Transformation & Quality Officer at Ford

Stuart Rowley was named chief transformation and quality officer March 2, 2022. In the role, he is responsible for driving quality as a reason that customers around the globe choose a Ford and leading improved efficiency, reduced complexity and achievement of a lean, fully competitive cost structure across the enterprise. Additionally, Rowley is chair, Ford of Europe. He reports to Jim Farley, the company’s president and CEO.

Prior to his current assignment, Rowley for three years was vice president and president, Ford of Europe, responsible for all operational leadership of the regional business unit, including its ambitious and effective transformation.

Earlier, Rowley was vice president and chief operating officer, Ford North America. He also served as vice president of Strategy for all of Ford from 2016 to ’18; vice president and controller from 2012 to ’16; and CFO, Ford of Europe, beginning from 2010 to ’12. Rowley was also CFO and, before that, deputy CFO and operations controller of Volvo in Gothenburg, Sweden. He served, too, as vice president, finance, Ford Australia.

Rowley joined Ford in 1990 as a financial analyst for Ford of Britain. He worked in several management positions in product development finance and manufacturing finance in Britain and the U.S. before being appointed finance director, Ford Philippines, in January 1998, a position he held until moving to Ford Australia.

A native of Derby, U.K., Rowley is married and has two sons. He holds a bachelor’s in Engineering degree from the University of Leeds and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Manchester Business School.
