Scott McCarthy, PhD, currently serves as the Program Director of Special Education and Student Services at Darien Public Schools, where responsibilities also include the role of District School Climate Coordinator. McCarthy has been recognized with the 2016 Outstanding Early Career Professional Award from the University of Connecticut Neag School of Education and the 2014 Exemplary Early Career School Psychologist Award from the National Association of School Psychology. Additionally, McCarthy is an instructor at Fordham University, teaching courses in school psychology, and serves as an adjunct professor at Fairfield University, focusing on educational research. Active in community service, McCarthy is a member of the Junior Board of Advisors for Family & Children's Agency. Previously, McCarthy held roles as Head of Department and School Psychologist at Greenwich Public Schools and gained research experience as a graduate assistant at the University of Connecticut, earning a PhD in Educational Psychology: School Psychology.
