The Copywriter will report to the Senior Manager, Marketing Operations and join a growing team responsible for supporting all customer acquisition and retention marketing needs. This role will require the ability to manage multiple deadlines, turn around projects quickly, and take data and trends and turn them into new thinking.

Customer acquisition and retention drives the success of the company overall, and marketing sits at the center of a lot of what we do as a business. While Freshly is growing quickly, we’re a lean team that relies on testing and learning plus a massive amount of collaboration and communication. Since we’re an internal creative team, you also need to be able to defend the brand and your work while effectively executing briefs.

We’re in search of a true jack/jill-of-all-trades who’s comfortable writing anything from UX copy to direct mail, emails for new customer journeys and direct response ad copy. If you’re in the know when it comes to food, tech, or digital marketing, you may be a great fit!

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver compelling copy across channels and platforms—above the line, below the line, on the line, when there is no line, etc.
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice while still writing copy that feels fresh and new, personalized and friendly, clear and knowledgeable and provides customers with the urgency to act.
  • Collaborate with the design, brand, and social media teams to deliver outstanding creative on time, every time.
  • Digest test learnings and feedback to optimize copy and turn around edits quickly.
  • Work with people across the whole company as the ultimate team player.

About You:

  • A writer with 3 or more years as a copywriter in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working for a DTC brand, or know the Direct Response space as well CRM.
  • A food fan who’s inspired by food trends, wellness/nutrition news, and cool content in general.
  • A thoughtful questioner who thinks outside the box and knows when to push back vs. when to keep it moving.
  • Loud-and-proud grammar geek with a strong opinion on the Oxford comma.
  • Bonus if you’ve worked for a subscription service, in the food industry, or at a lifestyle startup.
