Amy Marquardt

Amy Marquardt, RN, JD, joined Froedtert & MCW health network in 2016 as senior vice president, chief legal officer and general counsel. In this role, Amy sets strategy and policies for the organization, and gives advice on key legal issues, legislative initiatives and regulatory changes relevant to an academic health system environment.

She joined the Froedtert & MCW health network from Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS). During her four-and-a-half year tenure as vice president and general counsel at HSHS, she standardized processes for contractual legal reviews, participated on the senior strategy team, provided counsel to the HSHS board of directors and leadership on numerous legal transactions, including the HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital and HSHS Holy Family and Door County Medical Center affiliations.

Prior to HSHS, Amy spent a number of years at St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee (now Columbia-St. Mary’s) beginning in a nursing role, before earning her law degree and moving into the legal function, ultimately serving as the CSM general counsel.

Amy earned her law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She also served as a captain in the United States Army Reserve – Nurse Corps.
