John Murphy is the Group Operations Director, Operations Management at Gamma. John has over fifteen years of experience in the banking and finance industry. John has a proven track record in project management, business change management, and operations management.

John started their career at Barclays Bank plc in November 2006 as a Project Manager. John was quickly promoted to Business Change Manager in October 2005. In this role, John was responsible for leading a team of Business Analysts in the Home Finance area of Retail Banking. John successfully delivered two strategic IT change projects that were behind schedule and brought them back on track for the next release.

In December 2007, John left Barclays to join the Co-operative Group as their Energy Project Manager. In this role, John led a project team to identify and tender a new energy management solution for the Cooperative Group. After successfully completing this project, John was promoted to PMO Manager at Royal and Sunalliace in September 2009. In this role, John was responsible for managing a financial reconciliation / remediation programme.

After a successful stint at Royal and Sunalliace, John returned to Barclays in July 2010 as their Project Manager - Regulatory Change. In this role, John was responsible for delivering the Consumer Credit Directive regulatory project into HBoS sales processes.

John has been with Gamma since January 2011 and is currently their Group Operations Director, Operations Management.

John Murphy reports to Andrew Taylor, Chief Executive Officer. John Murphy works with David Doherty - Product Director, Access and Digital Strategy, Andy Morris - Chief Strategy and Operating Officer, and Daryl Pile - Managing Director – UK Indirect.
