William Dorgan

William Dorgan is the Group VP, Deputy General Counsel, Commercial Legal & IP at Gartner. William has held this position since July 2016.

Previously, they were a Senior Attorney at Microsoft, where they led the legal support for the company's Developer Experience (DX) business unit. William also sat on the DX Leadership Team and coordinated legal support for global ISV programs. In addition, they assisted with the integration of Nokia's Developer Experience business unit into Microsoft following Microsoft's purchase of Nokia's Devices & Services line of business.

Before joining Microsoft, Dorgan was the Legal Director, Developer Experience at Nokia. In this role, they provided legal support for the company's global developer programs and offerings.

Dorgan began their career as a Senior Associate at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. William later became the Senior Legal Director, Global Regulatory (Product Counsel) at Yahoo! Inc.

William Dorgan received their J.D. from Penn State Dickinson Law and their B.S. in Finance and English (minor) from La Salle University.
