Virtual events platform Icebreaker has announced the appointment of Marcie Walker as its new Head of Community Engagement. In her role, Ms. Walker will support event hosts to create engaging and fun online events, including creating content and brainstorming subject matter for specific communities. She will report to Co-Founder and COO Lisa Conn.
Ms. Walker brings more than seven years of account management, customer and community success to Icebreaker. She most recently held management roles with online service companies Meetup and Fiverr, and while she will work remotely in her new role, she will mostly be based in Denver, CO.
“Icebreaker’s mission is to strengthen communities by giving people a sense of togetherness online that they typically only feel in person,” Ms. Walker said. “As a strong believer in the power of community and conversation, I can’t imagine a product or team that I identify with and believe in more.”
