Hope L Johnson

Hope L Johnson, PhD, MPH, serves as the Special Advisor to the CEO for Strategic Initiatives at Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, where responsibilities include managing CEO transitions, overseeing external leadership engagement, and driving key organizational strategies. With prior roles as Director of the Measurement, Evaluation & Learning Department and Head of the Monitoring, Data Strengthening, Strategic Information team, Johnson has extensive experience in developing innovative evaluation strategies and enhancing data use for immunization programs. Prior to Gavi, Johnson held positions at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, including Assistant Scientist and Epidemiologist, focusing on efficiency in vaccine preventable disease research and capacity building in policy analysis. Johnson's educational background includes a PhD in Global Disease Epidemiology and Control and an MPH in International Health from Johns Hopkins, supplemented by a BA in Medical Geography from the University of Washington. Recent professional development includes a certificate in Executive Presence and Influence from Wharton Executive Education.
