David Crichton

David Crichton is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in the renewable energy and application engineering sectors. Currently serving as Chief Consulting Engineer - Machine Head at GE Vernova since January 2024, David previously held the position of Chief Engineer at Clemson University Energy Innovation Center, leading testing operations for a full-scale wind turbine drivetrain test facility. With a strong background at GE Renewable Energy from 2010 to 2022, David worked as a Principal Engineer and Consulting Engineer for onshore wind turbine systems, providing independent technical authority and mentoring design teams. Earlier roles included managing a global team for the Machine Head Subsystem and serving as a Group Leader at The Timken Company, focusing on application engineering for anti-friction bearing products, particularly in automotive powertrains. David holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Akron.
