Makoto Sato is a Senior Principal Scientist with over 20 years of experience in gene therapy and viral vector research. Previously, they held positions at UCLA as an Assistant Researcher and Postdoctoral Fellow, where they contributed significantly to cancer biology and gene therapy, producing adenoviral vectors and developing gene expression systems. Sato's earlier experience includes a role as a Staff Researcher at Zenyaku Kogyo Co., Ltd., where they identified the target of the Sobuzoxan compound and published key research findings. Currently, Sato works at GenVivo, Inc. as a Principal Scientist III. They obtained a BS in Biology from Tokyo Metropolitan University, an MS in Development Biology from Chiba University, and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Meiji Pharmaceutical University.
