Greta Ann Herin is an experienced educator and neuroscientist currently serving as an Associate Professor of Neuroscience on the Teaching Track at George Mason University since January 2019. Prior to this role, Greta held the position of Associate Professor at Eastern Mennonite University from 2006 to December 2018 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research in Frankfurt am Main from 2003 to 2006. Greta's academic journey began at the University of Pittsburgh, where a Doctor of Philosophy in Neurobiology was obtained between July 1997 and October 2003, following a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Psychology from Kansas State University from 1988 to 1992. In addition to academic pursuits, Greta has also been a dedicated wife and mother within the Wheeler family since 2008.
