Kristy Guerin

Geochemist at Geoscience Australia

Kristy Guerin is a geochemist at Geoscience Australia since June 2023, previously serving as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Sustainable Minerals Institute from March 2022 to June 2023, where research focused on the secondary prospectivity of critical minerals in mine waste. Kristy held various academic and industry roles including Sessional Academic at Queensland University of Technology from March 2018 to January 2022, Science Ambassador from June 2019 to December 2021, and Exploration Geologist at KGL Resources from May 2017 to January 2018. Additional experience includes tutoring at The University of Queensland and a vacation student position at Rio Tinto. Kristy earned a PhD in Geological and Earth Sciences from QUT and holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Geology from The University of Queensland, as well as a Bachelor of Nursing from Edith Cowan University.
