Emily Sheeren is a Partner at ghSMART. She helps executives, boards and investors make key leadership decisions with confidence. Her consulting work focuses on top-team leadership assessment and development, including CEO succession and executive coaching. Emily uses her background in management consulting to bring a strategic lens to leadership questions – helping her clients to translate their strategy into the talent needs for the business.

Prior to joining ghSMART, Emily was an Associate Partner in the Houston office of McKinsey & Company, where she was a leader in the global Organization practice with deep expertise in merger management, organization design and change management. Emily also led McKinsey’s integration work for private equity backed oil and gas transactions, and served investors and their portfolio companies on top team alignment and organizational redesign topics. Prior to McKinsey, Emily worked in equity capital markets for HSBC in New York where she helped global clients issue equity on US exchanges.

Emily serves on the Board of Directors of BakerRipley – a nonprofit that works to keep Houston a place of opportunity for all. She also serves as President of the Board of Directors for Small Steps Nurturing Center – a nonprofit preschool for at risk children. Emily has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the College of William & Mary.
