Alik Shimelmits

Alik Shimelmits currently serves as Vice President of R&D for the Smart Business Unit at Allot since October 2021. Previously, Alik has held the position of Chief Technology and Product Officer at Gilat Satellite Networks since May 2013, overseeing the company's product and technology roadmap and managing the Product and Antennas R&D groups. Alik also played a significant role as VP of R&D at Gilat, directing a multi-discipline R&D organization focused on SATCOM ground segment equipment. Other notable positions include Head of R&D for Transport Networks at ECI Telecom from October 2007 to May 2013, and VP of R&D at Axerra Networks from December 1999 to October 2007. Alik's career at ECI Telecom began in 1991 as AVP R&D. Alik holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from the Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics and a Master of Science degree in Cybernetics from the Moscow Institute of Chemical Engineering.
