Will Serber

Will Serber is a seasoned professional in automation and biotechnology, currently serving as General Manager Automation and VP Automation at Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc. since January 2023. Previously, Serber held multiple positions at Zymergen from 2013 to 2023, including Automation Commercial Lead, where a commercial Automation unit was established, and Senior Director, overseeing a team of 40+ in automating high-throughput labs. Serber's early career included significant roles in research and engineering at Zymergen, contributing to patent developments and leading automation initiatives. Additionally, Serber owned a commercial photography business from 2008 to 2013 and conducted research at Princeton University and the Max-Planck-Institut für Physik. Academic qualifications include an MS in Astrophysics from Princeton University and a BA in Astrophysics from Columbia University.
