Emily West

Emily West is an experienced educator and volunteer leader with a diverse background in language instruction and cultural exchange. As the Area Team Chair for AFS Intercultural Programs USA since November 2022, Emily leads volunteers and exchange students in the Massachusetts Bay Area. Additionally, as a Brownie Troop Leader for the Girl Scouts of the USA and a Spanish teacher at Village Academy, Emily demonstrates a commitment to education and youth development. Emily has held various positions in language education, including teaching Spanish at the Oxbow Schoolhouse and Hingham Public Schools, and serving as a local coordinator for exchange programs. With an M.Ed. in Teaching and Curriculum from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a BA in Spanish and TESOL from Brigham Young University, Emily combines academic expertise with practical experience in multicultural settings.
