Mary Black has over 20 years of experience in various roles within the Girl Scouts organization. Mary started their career in 1998 as the Director of Programs at the Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast, where they managed employee development, program development and management, safety/risk management, marketing, and community relations. Mary then served as the Vice President of Program Services and later as the Chief Program Officer, playing a key role in membership, volunteer development, outreach, retail shops, and product and program teams. Mary generated significant revenue through product sales programs and implemented leadership training initiatives.
In 2014, Mary joined the United Way of Racine County as the Director of Major Gifts and later became a Campaign Associate, responsible for account management, training/presentations, and administration. Mary successfully implemented campaign strategies and effectively communicated the case for giving.
Mary then returned to the Girl Scouts organization in 2016 as the Chief Operating Officer for the Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth of Virginia. In this role, they provided strategic leadership and oversaw operations.
Currently, Mary works at the Girl Scouts of the USA as the Director of Council Partnership, where they are responsible for developing partnerships and providing support to Girl Scout councils nationwide. Prior to this, they served as the Council Leadership Consulting Director and Council Operations and Membership Consultant.
Throughout their career, Mary Black has demonstrated a strong commitment to the Girl Scouts organization, strategic leadership, and revenue generation through innovative programs and initiatives.
Mary Black obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from Ashworth College from 2011 to 2015. Additionally, they have a Sandler Corporate Bronze Certification from Sandler Training, obtained in 2021.
