Julie MacDonald

Julie MacDonald is an experienced leader and dedicated volunteer with a strong commitment to empowering young people and enhancing community welfare. Currently serving as Patron at Sheffield Young Carers since March 2021, Julie also holds multiple roles within Girlguiding, including Lead Volunteer for the National Archive Project and County Archivist. Since November 2017, Julie has contributed as Lead Volunteer in Marketing and Communications and as a Board Trustee at Roundabout Ltd, a youth homelessness charity. A Trustee of the Sheffield Town Trust and Deputy Lieutenant of South Yorkshire since 2014, Julie has also served as Deputy Chairman for South Yorkshire's Community Foundation and was a Trustee for The Children's Hospital Charity until July 2020. Julie holds a PhD in History from The University of Sheffield and is equipped with archival qualifications, reflecting a lifelong devotion to community service and historical preservation.
