Cheryl Urban

Cheryl Urban is an accomplished professional in international affairs, currently serving as the Assistant Deputy Minister at Global Affairs Canada since January 2016. Cheryl has held various senior roles within the department, including Director General for Economic Development and International Financial Institutions and Director General for South America and Inter-American Relations. Previous experience includes positions at Global Affairs Canada and the Canadian International Development Agency, where Cheryl directed programs in Asia and managed significant budgets and staff. Academic qualifications include an M.A. in East Asian Studies from the University of Toronto and a B.A. in Philosophy from McGill University. Cheryl's contributions extend to leading significant initiatives such as the Task Force for Saving Every Woman, Every Child and involvement in high-level diplomatic meetings.
