Pegatha Taylor has extensive experience in international relations and policy analysis, currently serving as the Director for Southern and Central Africa at Global Affairs Canada since 2002. Previous positions at Global Affairs Canada include Deputy Director of the Ukraine Bureau, Director of Foreign Policy Research, and Deputy Director for Iran and Iraq. Additionally, Pegatha has experience as a First Secretary (Political) at the Embassy of Canada to the United States, focusing on international security and US-European relations. A background in conflict prevention and peacekeeping was established as a Deputy Director in the Canadian Federal Government. Academic qualifications include a PhD in History from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree, both in History from the University of Toronto. Pegatha also served as a lecturer at the University of Ottawa in early 2015.
