Ben Breen is an experienced economist currently serving as an Assistant Principal at the Department of Public Expenditure & Reform, contributing to the Irish Governmental Economic Evaluation Service since April 2020. Prior roles include Research Analyst - Statistician at the Road Safety Authority and Maritime Economist at the Irish Maritime Development Office. Ben has held multiple postdoctoral research fellow positions at the Economic and Social Research Institute and the Socio-Economic Marine Research Unit, specializing in natural resource and marine economics. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics from the University of Galway and master's degrees in Economics and Financial Economics.
