Knar Hovakimyan

Knar Hovakimyan is an accomplished professional with a strong background in linguistics and artificial intelligence. Currently serving as Engineering Manager for Responsible AI at Grammarly since November 2019, Knar leads a team focused on enhancing the safety and fairness of AI technologies. Previously, at Amazon from November 2016 to June 2019, Knar held roles as Program Manager and Research Coordinator within Alexa AI, overseeing multilingual NLU data quality and leading evaluations for natural language understanding (NLU) and automatic speech recognition (ASR) in Alexa products. Earlier experience includes working as a Linguistics Lab Manager and Student Consultant at Reed College, where Knar earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics.
