Paul McIntyre Royston has a wealth of experience in various leadership roles in the non-profit and healthcare sectors. Paul is currently serving as the Chief Communications Officer (CCO) at Grand River Hospital, where they lead the hospital's brand, marketing, communications, and external relations efforts. Prior to this role, Paul was the President & CEO of the Grand River Hospital Foundation, where they focused on building a team to support and create world-class healthcare for Waterloo Region.

Paul also founded and served as the Principal of CauseProfit, a firm that helps non-profit organizations build fundraising, marketing, and organizational skills for dynamic growth. Additionally, they served as the CEO of the Canadian Olympic Foundation, where they successfully grew Team Canada's fundraising efforts and helped enable Canadian athletes to strive for excellence in sports.

Earlier in their career, Paul founded The FAT Project (Food Addict to Triathlete), a personal journey of transformation, and served in leadership roles at the Calgary Public Library and the Calgary Public Library Foundation, where they focused on repositioning the library as a community hub and improving fundraising efforts.

Prior to that, they served as the Vice-President of Development at Hamilton Health Sciences and as a Campaign Director at the Sunnybrook Foundation, where they led fundraising efforts for various healthcare initiatives.

Paul began their career as a Development Officer at the University of Waterloo.

Paul McIntyre Royston has a Bachelor of Mathematics degree in Mathematics and Canadian Studies from the University of Waterloo, which they earned from 1997 to 2001. In 2014, they completed the Executive Non-Profit Leadership Program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business. From 2020 to 2021, they attended the San'yas Indigenous Cultural Safety Training. Currently, they are pursuing the March 2023 Metabolic Syndrome Canada Symposium at The University of British Columbia, in collaboration with the Pacific Northwest Division of Family Practice and the Metabolic Syndrome Canada Scientific Committee.
