John van Rooy

John van Rooy is an experienced civil engineer and educator with a diverse background in asset management, development engineering, and teaching. Currently serving as a Senior Development Engineer and Team Leader at Hamilton City Council since March 2015, John is responsible for planning and supervising maintenance of Water Services assets to ensure their reliability and longevity. Previous roles include managing civil engineering projects, overseeing technical aspects in various organizations, and teaching Digital Technology and Mathematics at Melville High School. John holds a New Zealand Certificate in Engineering and a Diploma of Education, reflecting strong foundations in both engineering and education.
