William M. Velez

CIO at Harvard Maintenance

William M. Velez is the current Chief Information Officer at Harvard Maintenance. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Information Officer at Intermex Wire Transfer, LLC from September 2013 to August 2019.

At Intermex, Velez was responsible for the company's corporate and technology strategy and execution. William oversaw a 60-person team and established the company's first data and cybersecurity infrastructure. Under their leadership, the company transformed from a brick-and-mortar business to a digital enterprise with a new revenue source - a digital channel with anti-fraud technologies.

In addition to their work at Intermex, Velez was also part of the Executive Team and the "10% Shareholders" group. William advised on cybersecurity strategy and audits, multimillion-dollar capex investments status, FinTech trends, SOX compliance, controls, and overall technology strategy. William played a key role in positioning Intermex for an IPO, pitching to over 50 PE firms, and authoring sections of the S-4 SEC document.

William M. Velez has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The Wharton School, a Master of Arts (MA) in International Studies with Honors from The Lauder Institute - University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez. William also attended high school at Colegio Nuestra Señora de Lourdes.

William M. Velez reports to Stanley K. Doobin, Owner & CEO. They are on a team with Nathalie Doobin - Owner & CEO of Harvard Services Group, John Rowley - EVP, Central Region, and Pat Mullin - COO.
