Ashley Mullins

NC Literacy Corps Member at Helps Education Fund

Ashley was born in Winston Salem, NC, but raised all over the south. However she still claims North Carolina as home! Ashley earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from North Carolina State University and an associate’s degree in science from Austin Peay State University.

During undergrad, Ashley was able to take classes that sparked her interest in seeking social justice and finding equitable solutions. After graduating she began a career as an Academic Coach. In that role Ashley worked alongside first generation college students to achieve their academic goals.

In serving as an academic coach, Ashley enjoyed seeing the excitement in students as they reached their goals and achieved academic success. Such reasons led her to the Helps Education Fund. She is excited to join the diverse Helps Education Fund team as an NC LiteracyCorps Member. She hopes to continue her work to build lifelong learners and encourage students to reach their full potential.
