Alan May

Chief Integration Officer for Talent & Culture at Hewlett Packard Enterprise

Alan May is the Chief Integration Officer for Talent & Culture at Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

In this role, Alan will lead the Juniper Networks acquisition upon the close of the deal, working alongside Antonio Neri and the Executive Committee to successfully integrate Juniper’s employees into the HPE family while strengthening our culture, our business, and our future.

Alan previously served as Chief People Officer and, during his time at HPE, transformed the Human Resource team to become a strategic function that partners with businesses to help foster innovation, raise the bar on talent, increase diversity, and advance culture and business results. His strategic leadership and oversight were instrumental in the 2015 corporate formation of HPE in its separation from HP. Since then, Alan has played a pivotal role in many transformation efforts, spin-offs and acquisitions. In partnership with the CEO, Board of Directors, and his peers on the Executive Committee, Alan continues to optimize the HPE culture and organizational structure to achieve the company’s bold goals for transformation and growth.

Prior to joining Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Alan worked at The Boeing Company for eight years, where he most recently led HR for the company’s Commercial Airplanes division. He was also head of HR for their Defense, Space & Security business and prior to that served as the company’s Vice President of Strategy, Compensation and Benefits.

Before joining The Boeing Company, Alan was the Chief Talent and Human Resources Officer for Cerberus Capital Management, a leading private equity firm based in New York. At Cerberus, he established an HR function for the firm and played an integral role in attracting top talent while leading the HR component of all due diligence and business integration efforts. Alan also held a number of senior HR and Business Integration roles over a 15-year career at PepsiCo, culminating with an assignment as Senior Vice President, Human Resources, for the rapidly growing Quaker, Tropicana and Gatorade divisions.

He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in industrial and labor relations. He also serves as a Governor for the San Francisco Symphony where he Chairs their Human Resources and Compensation Committee.
