Angela Botticella currently serves as Chief of Staff in the Office of the Deputy Secretary at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, a position held since May 2021. Prior to this role, Botticella was Chief of Staff at the Catholic Health Association of the United States from May 2017 to April 2022 and served as Principal Deputy Director for Intergovernmental and External Affairs at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services from May 2013 to January 2017, during which Botticella was a Senior Executive Service political appointee in the Obama Administration. Botticella's responsibilities have included advising leadership on stakeholder engagement for health care reform and overseeing a team of 70 in managing departmental interactions with various governmental bodies. Botticella holds a Master's degree in Public Administration and Policy from American University and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Teaching from San Diego State University.
