James Montgomery

James Montgomery is the VP of Engineering at Hiber. Prior to Hiber, they were a Principal Consultant at Sparta Global Ltd. / Channel Four Television Corporation from July 2016 to August 2019. In this role, they were accountable for the overarching quality assurance framework required for the successful governance and delivery of a complex multi-vendor, multi-stakeholder transformation programme. James was also a member of a team of UK-based leads, interfacing with the delivery partner, comprising a mirrored team of leads onsite and multiple teams offshore in India (250+ total size).

Montgomery's responsibilities included Delivery and execution of the programme quality assurance & compliance strategy, Lead for software delivery & testing governance, and Champion for software quality and agile best practises. James was also the Single point of contact for all programme audit & compliance.

Some of their notable achievements include defining & implementing the programme quality assurance strategy, managing the supplier quality assessments, KPIs and metrics, and delivering & presenting 7 successive stage gate reports to the exec steering. James also managed all programme audits.

The tools and technologies they are familiar with include Java, JUnit, K2, Mule, MUnit, JavaScript, Selenium (Automated UI Test), SOAP UI (Automated Services Test), Zephyr, BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin), Jira (Admin), Confluence, Jenkins, Bamboo, GitLab, Docker, SonarQube, and Fisheye.

James Montgomery has a background in computing and information technology from The Open University, as well as engineering from University of Cambridge. James also has a certification in Professional Product Owner from Scrum.org and a certification in Professional Scrum Master from Scaled Agile, Inc.
