John Youds

John Youds is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in project management within the rail industry. Currently serving as Head of UK Project Engineering at Hitachi Rail since November 2019, John has previously held senior engineering management roles at BOMBARDIER, where key responsibilities included leading project engineering activities for the AVENTRA platform and managing the Deep Tube Upgrade Programme. Prior to this, John's career features positions at Downer, Halcrow, and Interfleet Technology, with a strong emphasis on compliance, safety assurance, and engineering consultancy in traction and rolling stock. John graduated with an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University in 2002.
