Luca Nobili

Luca Nobili has had extensive work experience in the railway industry, holding various leadership and managerial roles in companies such as Hitachi Rail, Alstom, and Bombardier. Luca'srecent role at Hitachi Rail involves leading the global engineering team for operations, service, and maintenance in the railway sector, focusing on digital asset management and maintenance improvement. Prior to this, they served as the head of service signaling engineering at Hitachi Rail, responsible for analyzing data logs and reporting failures in signaling systems. At Alstom, they worked as a project director, overseeing the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the Cairo Monorail system. Luca also served as the managing director for Alstom in Ethiopia. At Bombardier, Nobili held multiple roles, including general manager for Bombardier Transportation in Ethiopia, project manager for signaling projects, regional head of project engineering, and head of the Ethiopia engineering competence center. Luca has extensive expertise in various signaling systems, including CBTC and ERTMS/ETCS, and has led projects across different regions, including Africa, Europe, and Latin America. Nobili also has experience in quality, health, safety, and environment (QHSE) engineering and RAMS (reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety) analysis.

Luca Nobili obtained a Laurea degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sapienza Università di Roma from 1991 to 1999. In 2009, they attended the Bombardier Transportation Management Institute for Project Execution and Control, and in 2008, they completed a program in Project Inizialitation and Planning at the same institute.
