Shruti Venkat graduated with a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Shruti then went on to complete a two-month summer research internship at AU KBC Research Centre followed by a one-month industrial research internship at MEDOPHARM. After their internships, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Erika Matunis Lab at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine for one year and nine months. Her work focused on studying the germline stem cell niche in the adult testis of Drosophila melanogaster and understanding the signals that regulate stem cell self-renewal and differentiation. Shruti then took on the role of Associate Director of Industry Relations at Hopkins Biotech Network where they provided a platform for monthly/bi-monthly discussions for Ph.D. candidates and students of other advanced degree programs seeking deeper insights into particular biotech or pharma topics.

Shruti Venkat has a Doctor of Philosophy in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, a Master of Science in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University Advanced Academic Programs, and a Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology from the Vellore Institute of Technology. Shruti has also completed the All India Senior School Certificate for Class 12 with a 95% from the Omega International School.
