Carl Danckaert

Carl Danckaert is the SVP & SBA Division Manager at Horizon Community Bank. Carl has over 7 years of experience in the banking industry, with a focus on small business lending.

Carl started their career at JP Morgan Chase in 2010 as a Vice President and Senior Credit Officer for their Small Business Administration (SBA) loan program. In this role, they were responsible for credit quality and production goals for New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Carl was successful in mentoring and coaching Junior Credit Officers, and helped the team achieve their goal of becoming the #1 SBA Lender in New York.

In 2013, Carl transitioned to SunTrust Bank as their Vice President and SBA Regional Credit Manager. In this role, they managed a team of SBA underwriters and loan support teammates across multiple sites in the southeastern United States. Carl was responsible for credit quality and risk management for the bank's small business lending footprint. Carl partnered with the National Sales Manager, Business Development Officers, Construction Administration, and National Closing Manager to help make SunTrust one of the top ten SBA lenders for multiple years.

Most recently, Carl has taken on the role of SVP & SBA Division Manager at Horizon Community Bank. In this role, they are responsible for leading the bank's small business lending division and managing a team of SBA underwriters, loan officers, and support staff. Carl is committed to providing high-quality customer service and growing the bank's portfolio of small business loans.

Carl Danckaert has an MBA in Executive Management from Ashland University as well as a Bachelor Degree in Business Management and Psychology from Kent State University. Carl also has a Master of Business Administration from Walsh Jesuit High School.
