Udaya Kankanange

Udaya Kankanange is an experienced engineering professional with a focus on telecommunications and operational technology systems within the utilities sector. Currently serving as a Senior OT Systems Engineer at Horizon Power since April 2023, Udaya is dedicated to providing sustainable and reliable electricity supply to rural Western Australian communities. Previously held the position of Senior Telecommunications Design Engineer at Western Power, specializing in communication systems design to enhance safety and reliability in electrical transmission and distribution networks. Udaya has extensive experience in water and wastewater projects as a Senior Controls and SCADA Engineer at AVID Resources, and in various infrastructure projects while serving as a Senior Project Engineer at Schneider Electric. Udaya began a career in electrical utility communications and SCADA systems at the Ceylon Electricity Board. Udaya holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Moratuwa.
