Ken Sheirr

SVP Marketing at Houston Rockets

Ken Sheirr is the Senior Vice President of Marketing for the Houston Rockets. In this role, he is responsible for Brand Management, Creative Services, Media Strategy and Planning, Digital Marketing and Communications, Community Relations, Game Presentation, Event Production and Retail Operations. During his tenure overseeing the marketing department, the Rockets have been recognized by the American Marketing Association, the American Advertising Federation, and the Art Directors Club of Houston for honors including the top integrated marketing campaign in the city of Houston. Under Sheirrs direction, the Rockets have seen improved customer satisfaction scores for in-game presentation and concourse activities, and have introduced advanced media platforms that have netted substantial revenue growth for both tickets and sponsorship sales. The Rockets marketing team is considered a thought leader within the NBA league offices: their work has been referenced at league-wide conferences, and their marketing infrastructure has been modeled by other teams.

Before moving into the marketing department, Sheirr spent three years as Director of Business Development. Sheirr's responsibilities included the development and analytical support of all elements leading to the launch of Toyota Center.

Prior to joining the Rockets, Sheirr worked for Hard Rock Cafe International, primarily on the project team responsible for launching NBA City, a restaurant concept developed by HRC and the NBA. He then became project manager for NBA City in charge of developing and executing strategic plans for improved operations.

Sheirr currently serves on the board of directors for the Houston chapter of the Anti-Defamation League and Ronald McDonald House Houston. A graduate of Cornell University, he grew up in Staten Island, New York. He and his wife, Gretchen, live in The Woodlands with their twins, Jordan and Zachary.
