Mary Ann Scully

Mary Ann Scully is the current Chairman and CEO of Howard Bank. Mary has had an illustrious career in banking, starting at First National Bank of Maryland in 1973. Mary eventually became the EVP of Regional Banking, responsible for 200 branches, call centers, all small business and middle market banking in three states. Mary also oversaw the bank's international banking division. In 2003, they left First National Bank of Maryland to help found Howard Bank.

Under Scully's leadership, Howard Bank has become a niche commercial bank focused on quickly growing urban and suburban markets. The bank has successfully scaled both organically and through 4 strategic mergers. Scully has also led multiple private and public capital raises for the bank. In February 2022, they led the sale of the bank at an above market multiple.

In addition to their work at Howard Bank, Scully is also a Partner at Accelerent.

Mary Ann Scully earned their MBA in finance and accounting from Loyola University Maryland. Mary also holds a bachelor's degree in American Studies from Seton Hill University.
