James Watson

James Watson, CFA, is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in credit analysis and investment management. Currently serving as Managing Director at HPS Investment Partners, LLC since January 2017, James specializes in high yield credit analysis with a focus on healthcare, retail, and opportunistic credit mandates. Previously, as Vice President at American Capital from January 2013 to December 2016, James concentrated on the broadly syndicated leveraged loan market with sector expertise in consumer goods, retail, and metals. Earlier roles included Associate at ING Capital, LLC in acquisition finance, Analyst in leveraged loan portfolio management at Deutsche Bank, and Analyst in sponsor finance at CIT Group. James holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, General Management, and History from Boston College.
