Maria Alexiadis

Maria Alexiadis is a Senior Research Assistant at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research, where Maria coordinates research on rare tumors, manages relationships with patients and researchers, and oversees the GCT tumor bank while mentoring future research leaders. With a distinguished career as a State and National Karate Athlete for Karate Victoria, Maria has achieved over 10 national championships and participated in international competitions, including representing Australia at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Qualifier. Maria's leadership extends to roles as Lead Coach and Female Athlete Development Coordinator, where initiatives focused on enhancing female athlete participation and wellbeing. As an Executive Board Member, Maria contributed to strategic planning and secured funding for grassroots karate development. Maria holds a Bachelor of Biological Science (Hons) from La Trobe University.
