James Lofting

James has practiced as a planning and environment lawyer in Victoria since 2004. He appears regularly at VCAT and PPV on behalf of landowners, developers and local authorities. He assists and advises developers in relation to the full spectrum of issues associated with the planning approvals and the land development process.

He also represents and advises Council’s in relation to planning and environment issues including policy development, administrative procedures, planning prosecutions and enforcement. Prior to moving to Melbourne in 2004, James practiced in the United Kingdom working as an in house planning lawyer for a number of Local Councils.

James has been recognised for Planning and Environment Law in Best LawyersTM Australia 2019 edition. He is also recognised in Doyles GuideTM Australia as a Town Planning and Development Lawyer, Victoria 2019.
