John Schmidt

John Schmidt serves as the Meiko Protect Manager at MEIKO USA, focusing on promoting firefighter PPE decontamination practices through the implementation of SCBA washers since January 2025. In addition, John holds various leadership roles, including Advisory Board Member at the International Firefighter Cancer Initiative and Director At Large at the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), both since September 2023 and July 2022 respectively. John is also a Director at the Florida Firefighters Safety and Health Collaborative since July 2022 and previously served as Fire Chief at McLemore Fire Department from December 2023 to May 2024. Prior experience includes Division Chief of Health, Safety, and Wellness at Pasco County Fire Rescue from March 2019 to December 2023. John Schmidt holds an Associate's degree in Fire Science from St. Petersburg College.
