Marc Uleman

Group Executive, Health & Science Technologies at IDEX

Marc serves as Group Executive overseeing an array of businesses that produce components for healthcare, pharmaceutical and science equipment, high-end sealing solutions and optical semi-finished products. The Health & Science Technologies segment serves a wide range of industries, including analytical instruments for medical and DNA sequencing, oil & gas, pharmaceutical production and semiconductor markets. He joined IDEX in January 2012, rising through roles of increasing responsibility in various segments of IDEX to his current position. His group currently includes over 2,500 employees, operating at 25 sites in nine countries, including a recent acquisition in Sweden. Marc and his senior team have relentlessly focused on talent development across the group in the last several years, allowing more than 30 managers to take on new roles with more responsibility, both in their home countries and as well as internationally. Over 80 percent of these role changes were internal promotions, offering company-wide career perspectives for high-performing colleagues. A significant percentage of the hires have been diverse candidates. Another focal point has been new product development, where Marc and his team have deployed several key initiatives that supported the group’s growth, including some of the largest product launches ever within IDEX. Marc combines experiences in large multinational companies like DSM and General Electric with experiences in entrepreneur-owned businesses, operating in industries ranging from base chemicals to highly engineered products. His experience as an entrepreneur, backed by a focus on strong operating processes, is an ideal fit for IDEX’s decentralized structure. Marc earned degrees in Mechanical and Chemical engineering from the University of Twente in the Netherlands and has completed additional executive education at the London Business School. He has been active in various industry groups, including a chairmanship for an EU organization in Brussels. He currently lives with his wife Etta and their three children in the Netherlands.
